A long-delayed photo bomb of my recent trip to Chicago for the Workday Rising conference. First up, a very cool cityscape shot over the Chicago riverwalk. Got here with a crew from work after one specific, nameless person got us lost:
Cool pic of the interior of the plane from Dallas to the Windy City:
I stayed at the Jaslin Hotel in Chinatown, about 6/10ths of a mile from McCormick Center where Rising was held. I got a lot of steps this week – around 17,000 every day – and had breakfast at the Chinese bakery next to the hotel every day. Had some good Pho at the Vietnamese place across the road on the one cold day we had while there:
More cool pics from the Monday night walkabout with the TAMUS gang. Cool shot of an unknown building with a blue aura surrounding it:
After tramping all the way up Michigan Avenue and a view streets along the way, we jumped in a cab just about the time we passed Trump Tower:
McCormick Center was an amazing venue. These pics can’t reveal the size of the place – unreal:
Tuesday night was party night the House of Blues. A vendor I’ve already forgotten hosted the concert gratis, so that was cool and the price was right:
Neat shot back into downtown from the convention center:
I found this part of Chicago fairly livable and walkable, a bit sketchy at times, but overall a good experience. This construction side is right across from McCormick Plaza:
Wednesday night was the official Workday party, which was a horrible drag for the first two hours. Then Gwen Stefani came out and put on a heck of a show:
Taking this none-too-great shot of Lake Michigan made me miss the shuttle to O’Hare. Luckily another one was queued up only a few minutes later:
Parting pic of me taken by an extremely unmotivated Workday temp:
